June 16, 2026 Update: The NSBR was 8 races over 8 years. Before year 9, it's creator and formerly known as Chief Instigator Brian Rhea released the event from the confines of his original vision. Now, more than ever, cyclists are encouraged to not do the NSBR in their own original way. Should you try, know the 630 miles is easier than the way. Sportmanship over finishing, always, my friends. WHAT The North Star Bicycle Race is an unsupported 629.4+ mile out & back attack done in the solo self-supported one stage style. No entry fee, no meetings, no merchandise and no sponsors. The NSBR is a racers' race complete with no control points and no prizes. Face to face endurance racing brought to you by an out & back of MN's north shore. A battle by bicycle.
